About Us

DigMetSol was established to develop measurement systems in the field of metrology, enhance the infrastructure of primary and secondary level laboratories, and offer calibration solutions.

As part of our expertise (related to SI and derived units), we develop high-accuracy, special-purpose systems (and devices), provide system automation, and deliver remote calibration/verification services within industrial processes.

With over 30 years of national and international experience, our staff have contributed to the metrology laboratory infrastructures of many countries and have collaborated with organizations such as BIPM, EURAMET, and OIML.

DigMetSol is your solution partner, aiming to work with you to provide reliable, traceable, and sustainable measurement solutions for both industry and primary/secondary level laboratories!

Founders Message
Sevda Kaçmaz
Founder, Senior Metrology Specialist

Greetings,

For approximately 29 years, I was employed at the Mass Laboratory of the national metrology institute. During this tenure, my responsibilities extended beyond mere measurement execution to encompass the establishment of infrastructures, the design and transformation of systems. I spearheaded the automation of manually operated devices and engineered robotic systems for mass and solid density measurements, thereby introducing innovative solutions to the field of metrology.

The knowledge and technology we have cultivated have been disseminated not only within our national borders but also to the metrology institutes of other nations, such as the Saudi Arabian National Metrology Institute “SASO NMCC”. We established systems that facilitated the elevation of these laboratories to the primary level, and the resultant best measurement uncertainty values were accorded acceptance by the BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures).

Furthermore, I conducted primary level mass calibration and calibration/verification training for automatic and non-automatic weighing instruments for entities in the Middle East, Africa, the Turkish Republics, and the Balkan countries. I contributed to secondary level laboratories within Turkey through the provision of consultancy and technical training. In the domain of legal metrology, I served as a technical auditor for OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology), with a specific focus on weights and automatic and non-automatic weighing instruments.

Leading work packages within EURAMET (European Association of National Metrology Institutes) Research and Development Projects, novel calibration methodologies were developed for three distinct instrument types (ACI; Automatic catchweighers instruments, AGFI; Gravimetric filling instruments, AWIM; Automatic instruments for weighing road vehicles in motion) to ensure calibration traceability in dynamic weighing measurements (EMPIR; AWICal, Project Number: 14RPT0). Within the purview of ACI, the Euramet calibration guideline “No. 26 | Guidelines on the Calibration of Automatic Catchweighing Instruments | TC-M | Version 2.0, 12/2024” was published. Participation was also undertaken in the EURAMET TC-M (European Association of National Metrology Institutes Technical Committee – Mass) Project No: 1662 “Finalisation of the draft "Guideline on the Calibration of Automatic Gravimetric Filling Instruments"”. Additionally, the FP7 EMRP Project, SIB 05 NewKILO: Developing a Practical Means of Disseminating the New Kilogram (2012-2016), an EMRP (European Metrology Research Programme) initiative focused on devising a practical approach for the dissemination of the redefined kilogram (NewKILO), developed new high-precision mass standards, innovative methods for their cleaning and monitoring, and procedures and equipment for the transfer of mass standards between vacuum and air. The outcomes of this project are intended to facilitate the benefits of the redefinition for the end-user community.

Presently, I continue to share this wealth of accumulated expertise under the aegis of DigMetSol with my national and international colleagues who, like myself, have dedicated a significant period to the field of metrology. Our endeavors include establishing the infrastructures of developing metrology institutes, providing technical support to accredited laboratories, and advancing industrial measurement systems.

The sharing of knowledge and experience with all those committed to metrology, and the advancement of systems towards greater robustness and sustainability, constitute a significant source of motivation for me.

Respectfully,
Sevda Kaçmaz
